Ski and Board Development Camp
Brindabella Ski Club runs a ski and snowboard development camp in the first week of the July school holidays each year, in Guthega. Full members of all ages are welcome to join in. All juniors must have a nominated adult also attending who is responsible for them for the duration of the camp, including travel to and from lessons – this is not a supervised camp. Where there is space available, the camp is also open to Christie and Summer members followed by Associates. This camp has been very popular for over a decade and its many participants over the years have improved their skiing and boarding, forged great friendships and have fond memories of the enormous fun they had during the camp. Everyone chips in – groups are assigned and each group procures, cooks and cleans up one dinner for everyone in the lodge.
All skill levels are welcome — the camp is about improving your skiing or boarding ability, regardless of your current capability. Attendees must be able to ski or board across the entire resort, or if not, they must be prepared to drive to Perisher to participate in lessons.
Participants are encouraged to give other disciplines a go. For example a skier might do a couple of days of skiing, a day or two of boarding and half a day of cross country. Cross discipline development will help us field teams for the Balmain Cup!
Dates for the development camp are in the training calendar. Members keen to participate in any of these events should contact our Club Captain.
