Kyilla was opened in 1960 and extensively renovated in 2014.

Kyilla is a lovely A frame lodge  with sublime views over Guthega Dam to the Main Range. Downstairs there is an entry foyer with ski / board storage and ski/board tuning bench, kitchen and dining room, drying room, and laundry facilities. There are bedrooms on both levels, with one queen, four twin share, two 4 bed bunk rooms and a 5 bed room with ensuite. Most bedrooms have share bathrooms. Kyilla was opened by Sir William Hudson, Commissioner of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Authority on 17 July 1960.
