We have been running our bookings and membership database on Clubman since 2018. It has served us very well through these years and has continued to evolve. The next step in this evolution is that Clubman has changed its look and feel.
We have also updated the Club website over the past 9 months or so. It is worth taking a look if you haven’t visited recently.
Why has the Clubman interface been updated?
To make Clubman easier to use. Clubman has grown a lot since it was first introduced in 2018. In that time, the old interface got cluttered, clunky and dated. Technology has moved on, too. The new interface takes advantage of modern browser features to make it much faster and easier to build and change. That means Clubman gets better, faster.
What has changed in Clubman?
Just the look and feel. The booking engine and database are the same. The way the system is constructed is the same. The layout of each page is more user friendly, buttons are easier to find, and it should make your experience easier.
What do I need to do?
No changes or specific actions are required from you. Next time you make a booking or check details of any bookings, your membership details or invoices, you will be using the new interface. You have plenty of time between now and when winter bookings open to familiarise yourself with the new look.
What has changed on the website?
The biggest change is to organisation of information on the website. We have got rid of confused monolithic pages full of links about everything. Each page is now smaller and focussed on its topic to make it much easier to find the information you are looking for.
What content has updated?
Almost every page has changed or is new. On the home page you’ll find the latest news articles. You can find older News articles as well as an updated calendar of events, races, training, work parties etc under the “News” menu. You’ll see new pages on Snowsports Development and Racing. You can find details of the USC lodges in Victoria where we have a reciprocal booking arrangement. You can buy club merchandise. Booking information, the Lodge Operations Guide, Club Rules and By-Laws and Membership information are all much easier to find than previously.
How do I navigate the website?
On a large screen the menu is in dropdowns from boxes across the top of each page. On a small mobile screen you’ll find it under a “hamburger” (three small lines) at the top right.
