Club Championships

The club holds annual club championship races for skiers and boarders. Where practical, the venue alternates yearly between Thredbo and Guthega. All members are encouraged to race. The club funds all racing fees, competitors will need to provide their own valid lift tickets.

Thredbo Interclub Championships

This hotly contested giant slalom ski race is held annually on the Rossignol Race Course in Thredbo. 14 clubs compete and there can be over 150 racers including former Olympians, octogenarians, skiers with little or no experience with race gates, keen twenty-somethings with great style and legs like tree trunks and people twice their age who think they are faster. There are numerous categories across genders, team and individual, handicapped and absolute time. Join our team and help us bring home the pennants!

Thredbo Junior Interclub Championships

This is a great opportunity for junior competitors to race for our club. We have had fantastic results in some years and it would be great to see more. Join the team!

Guthega Interclub Championships

Guthega is a wonderful small village where people have lots of friends among members of other clubs as well as the club where they stay. Race day is partly competitive, partly camaraderie as we all get out and represent our club. We have had some great results in these championships, open to skiers and boarders. Join our team!

Balmain Cup

Balmain Cup is the oldest snow sports race in Australia, run annually since its inception in the 1930s. Brindabella Ski Club competes against Canberra Alpine Club, Cooma Ski Club, Guthega Ski Club and Tate Ski Club in four disciplines: slalom, giant slalom, snowboard giant slalom and cross country. Each club fields a team of 6 for each event, with the best 4 times counted towards the overall club result. The best individual performance in at least 3 of the disciplines wins the prestigious George Dudzinski trophy named after a late Life Member of Brindabella Ski Club.

Dates for these events are in the racing calendar. Members keen to participate in any of these events should contact our Club Captain.
