Please spend a few minutes today to support our submission to the Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct Draft Master Plan exhibition, which closes at midnight tonight.
The Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct (SMSAP) was announced in November 2019. The SMSAP Master Plan will be a 40 year strategic plan for the precinct. The public exhibition of the Draft Master Plan closes today, with opportunity for comments and other submissions ending at midnight.
Your committee has reviewed the Draft Master Plan and believes that it will be beneficial to the club and its members, as well as to the region in general. The draft presents opportunities for the club but there are also some threats in its pages. As such we have prepared a submission that we will lodge today. Brindabella Ski Clubs is a member of SLOPES and they have also prepared a detailed joint submission with Perisher Blue and the Perisher Chamber of Commerce. We have reviewed their submission and support it.
I encourage you to make a brief personal submission. You may use the following words:
I am a [member/guest/friend of a member etc] of Brindabella Ski Club which has a 70 year history of association with Kosciuszko National Park, with two lodges in Guthega and a lodge in Thredbo and is a member of SLOPES. I strongly endorse the Submission prepared by Brindabella Ski Club and the Joint Submission prepared by SLOPES, Perisher Blue and the Perisher Chamber of Commerce. The Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct initiative provides a unique opportunity to enhance the amenity of the alpine environment whilst balancing a broad range of interests in a sensitive way that provides for improved use and enjoyment of the Kosciuszko National Park for all.
